A beautiful up to date mock Tudor House built by a local artist who moved to the area in about 1925. Over a period of time he built several cottages named 'Roundabout', which is an old English term for a Spinney, which means a thicket with under wood, hence the area is known as Roundabout (not because we are near a roundabout). The hotel is situated in it's own grounds of two acres near to the beautiful South Downs, a walker's or runner's paradise (South Downs Link to Eastbourne). It is quietly tucked away from the noise of traffic and yet close to the main road, railway and is an easy run of 46 miles from London. If you want to be energetic there's excellent golf at the West Chiltington 18 hole golf course Three miles away (we can book T off times), horseback riding, with cycling or walking over the Downs a must, or if you just want to laze and sniff the scent of pine trees, there's no more restful, sunny and healthy place to be. At the Best Western Roundabout you can enjoy a stay in West Sussex that combines a subtle blend of old world charm and modern day comforts. Our friendly and welcoming staff is always on hand to offer efficient and prompt service. The hotel's individually styled 25 bedrooms all have tapestries and old solid oak furniture. There is a great selection of rooms that range from standard twins/doubles to large superior rooms (several of which are non-smoking) most of which overlook the guard and for that special occasion the oak Four Poster rooms are ideal - champagne and flowers add that little extra to the occasion. High-speed Internet access just added. Relax and enjoy a drink in the friendly atmosphere of the bar, with open log fire in the winter, before going through to the Garden room restaurant to choose from our extensive table d'hotel and a la carte menus. There is also a separate menu for Vegetarians and Vegans and our experienced chef is only too happy to cater for any dietary needs. This makes the Roundabout an ideal venue for a celebration luncheon or dinner receptions, we cater for all, from weddings to 100th birthday celebrations and small family gatherings. For your next business meeting consider the Best Western Roundabout Hotel with its two meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 60 delegates theatre style or 26 board room style and the gardens offer that extra space for the occasional team building games. There is plenty of free car parking on site but no lift. Hotel is completely non smoking.
