A predominant feature of The Hapuna Beach Prince site is the presence of a series of underground springs. In ancient times, during seasons of heavy rainfall these springs would bubble to the surface creating natural artesian fountains. The resultant streams would provide a source of respite and renewal for travelers along the otherwise dry and barren Kohala Coast. Thus the area was named /Hapuna/ or /Spring of Life/ in the Hawaiian language. There is so much to see and experience at the Hapuna Beach Hotel. You can be busy from morning to night, or if you choose you can relax and soak in the rays on the long white sand beach. The Hapuna Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course nestled in the dramatic natural contours of the land from the shoreline to about 700 feet above sea level. The course offers spectacular views of the Kohala coast and the Pacific Ocean while majestic Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Kohala Mountains form the backdrop. In addition, guests may also elect to play at the world famous Mauna Kea Golf course, rated one of the best courses in the state. In addition to the freshwater pool and poolside Jacuzzi, guests can enjoy the white sands of lovely crescent shores of Kauna'oa Bay or no.1 rated Hapuna Beach. Activities include swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, outrigger canoe paddling, sailing, kayaking, catamaran riding, whale watching and deep-sea fishing. Windsurfing is available just 20 minutes south of our resort. There is a little cove nearby where the waters are sheltered and clear. On any given day, giant sea turtles may drop in for a visit. Otherwise, it's the perfect place for swimmers and snorkelers to explore at their leisure. Adjacent to Hapuna, in front of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is Kauna'oa Bay considered by many to be the island's single most picturesque beach. Crescent-shaped with pure white sands and shimmering aqua waters, it is perfect for water sports including swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, catamaran riding, whale watching and deep-sea fishing. Even at night, guests step onto a circular lava outcropping overlooking the bay, to watch the manta rays swim beneath.

Coast Grille The hotel's signature restaurant features an Oyster Bar and the freshest Pacific Rim cuisine in an indoor or outdoor setting. Arnie's Light Spa luncheons and hearty American fare are served at Arnie's Restaurant in the clubhouse. Beach Bar A snack bar by the pool featuring lunch and early afternoon snacks.
